Ria Sheth is a Civil Engineer with a passion for wellness and sustainability. A recent graduate from the University of Pennsylvania, Ria completed her Master of Science, Environmental Design with a specialization in Sustainable Design. While in the program, she was a teaching assistant for a course on ‘Sustainability, Health and the Built Environment’. She was involved in brainstorming the impacts of sustainable and active design strategies on health with students as well as professionals in the field. Her various courses have equipped her with skills like GIS, life cycle assessment, environmental accounting and systems analysis. Ria’s Master’s thesis focussed on cities— a specific analysis of green building codes across the United States. As a sustainability consultant in the field, Ria has experience in dealing with calculations and documentation for various LEED projects and energy benchmarking for Energy Star projects. As a Junior Project Manager at ASAP, Ria support the team on both LEED and WELL projects, using her vast and diverse global experience.
Ria co-founded a start-up – Majama Pajama when she was 19 years old. Majama Pajama deals with bespoke, luxury sleepwear and sleep accessories. The company takes pride in its nearly zero waste record by using 100% recyclable packaging to deliver their products and reusing every bit of scrap material in cushion fillings and sleep-masks.
Ria has a diverse background that includes a proposed a master plan of sustainable strategies for a rehabilitation campus in Badlapur, India, and developing a pitch to give the patrons of public spaces access to sustainable interventions. Ria has been a noteworthy contributor in revamping and renovating a 32-bedroom guesthouse for Siemens, keeping in mind their sustainable outlook. Ria was also involved in planning the construction of a green façade for a hotel in Jaipur, India.
Ria recently passed her WELL AP accreditation and is pursuing online courses in Rhino and Sustainable Entrepreneurship. In her spare time, you can catch Ria at the nearest bar – enjoying her glass of craft beer, a slice of pizza and doodling on the paper napkins!
