Daniel A. Huard, LEED Fellow, LEED AP (EB:O+M, BD+C), WELL Faculty, WELL AP, PMP, CPMP, LFA, GGA, GGP, GPCP, is an accomplished Senior Executive with more than 20 years of success across the construction, sustainability, renewables, and property development industries. Leveraging extensive experience leading cutting‐edge design and construction efforts in the Green Building, sustainability, and infrastructure sectors; he is a valuable asset for companies working on transitioning into sustainability, corporate governance, policy and procedure optimization, team issues, training, or strategic planning. His broad areas of expertise include project management, urban construction, training, coaching, operations, process improvement, sustainable design, and business sustainability assessment. Daniel brings these skills to the ASAP team as a Technical Advisor.

Daniel earned professional degrees in Mechanical Engineering, a Bachelors in Architecture, Masters of Architecture and Masters of Urban Planning. Daniel’s professional expertise has contributed to numerous domestic and international High‐Performance Building, Sustainable and Restorative Development projects as well as international events including Greenbuild, WaterBuild, Greenbuild China, Living Future unConference, WaterSmart Innovations, The Energy Expo, Advanced Energy Conference, Energy Management Congress, ChicagoBuild, New York Build, CAPAC and Global Gaming Expo to name a few.

Daniel has held numerous C-Suite Executive Board positions at numerous organizations throughout his executive career. As Founding Principal of Humann Building Solutions, a registered Professional Engineering firm since 1998; Daniel leads restorative development work on diverse specialty purpose facility projects to design and construct buildings and infrastructure for improved sustainability, efficiency and operability. His global project expertise includes offices, resort and hospitality buildings, government facilities, museums, cultural, education facilities and sustainable improvements to historical restorations and landmarks.

In 2016 Daniel became Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) and Governance Leader of DYOB (Design Your Own Bed), where he was instrumental in the design of a mattresses paradigm shift combining sustainability, sleep, health and wellness into a 100% up‐cyclable product constructed to be completely human and environmentally healthy with recyclable ingredients that ensure their products never cause harm or go to a landfill. His CSO and Corporate Governance roles further include V2 Energy Solutions, an energy storage optimization company that serves to increase resiliency of facilities and decrease dependence on fossil fuels. Daniel is also the Chief Executive Officer of Global GreenTag Americas, LLC.

Daniel is the Global CSO and CWO for OAIRO Alliance Ltd., providing exceptionally efficient HVAC system improvements with optimum IAQ Delivery to increase wellness response of air delivery. Daniel honed his engineering expertise during a 17‐year career with General Motors of Canada moving through progressively increasing managerial responsibilities. Daniel has assisted with the US Department of the Interior’s development of their Federal Standards for Guiding Principles for High Performance and Sustainable Buildings and was key to having the Lower Colorado Region of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation adopt the LEED Standard for all their new construction from 2012 onward. Daniel has also been a Subject Matter Expert to the U.S. Department of Defense since 2016 with their adoption of the Guiding Principles.

Daniel’s 20+ year commitment to Green Building include his current roles as a member of USGBC’s LEED Technical Committee, development of LEED v4.0, the beta version of LEED v4.1, and planned future LEED v5 Standards. Daniel has been elected for multiple terms as the Chairperson of the LEED Water Efficiency Technical Advisory Group. He also sits on the IWBI Global COVID-19 Task Force; USGBC LEED Fellow Evaluation Committee; 2020 Greenbuild Global Health & Wellness Summit Advisory Board; USGBC Waterbuild 2016, 2017 and 2018 Summit presenter and program team member; Greenbuild 2016 Host Committee team member; NFRC Vice Chair, Director, Governance Chair and Executive Committee member from 2014 to 2021; and ILFI Las Vegas Valley Collaborative LBC Collaborative Founder and Inaugural Chair.

Past commitments to Green Building include: President USGBC Nevada, USGBC Western Regional Council Chair, USGBC NV Chapter Director and Executive Committee member for a term limited six years, USGBC Emerging Professionals Chair ‐West (South) Region, LEED v4 Rating Systems Regionalization contributing author, Greenbuild International 2013, 2014, 2016 – 2018 Program Review Team and Presenter, Living Future 2014, 2015 Program Review Team, Living Future 2015- 2017 Presenter, and ILFI 2013 – 2017 Project Summit and Ambassador Summit.

As a former League of Indian Nations of North America Ambassador to the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, Daniel focused on international sustainability programs, social and educational programs and native rights recognition and advocacy. Daniel was a Senior Mentor and LEED Project Administrator for DesertSol, the UNLV US Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2013 entry which earned global 2nd place overall, narrowly missing winning the competition by 3 points. Daniel was sought out to assist Solar Decathlon teams yet again in the 2015 competition and mentored the GRoW Home team from SUNY at Buffalo who finished 2nd in that competition as well.
