David Rubin, WELL AP, Fitwel Ambassador, Green Globes Emerging Professional, EcoDistricts AP, LEED Green Associate, and BREEAM Associate, is a green and wellness building consultant with a passion for delivering common-sense solutions to complex situations.

Prior to working with ASAP, David was a consultant to a multi-national real-estate firm where he advised on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) matters across their domestic portfolio. Working with developers, architects, engineers, asset managers, and property managers, activities included due-diligence and acquisition analysis, climate resilience building strategies, clean-tech and prop-tech evaluation, and energy optimization.  With an extensive specialty lighting background, David’s background includes the deployment of circadian lighting to improve the mood, alertness, productivity, and health for those operating in the built environment. In addition, David installed some of the world’s first far-UVC (222nm) technologies to fight the spread of pathogens in real-time during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

David has served in leadership positions including President of the Americas for a global LED component manufacturer and President of America for a global LED commercial products firm. With more than 15-years of leadership experience, David has traveled the world working with diverse teams in challenging environments. His passion of learning from other cultures provides David a foundation in leading successful account teams with time sensitive deliverables.

David served on the International Well Building Institute’s Task Force on COVID-19 and other Respiratory Infections where he provided his knowledge of UVC applications to disinfect spaces in real-time. David currently serves on the Climate Resilience Guideline Task Force (ASTM International) which is involved in developing guidelines for buildings and sites. He also serves on multiple Illuminating Engineering Societies (IES) technical committees including Aged and Partially Sighted and Healthcare Facilities.

David earned a Bachelor of Arts in Geography with a focus in Environmental Resource Management from the University of Texas at Austin, and a M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Dallas. He and his wife live in Argyle (Dallas), TX with their two cats (Figaro and Sophia). Believers in community participation, the Rubin family participate in the Adopt-a-Highway program where they clean two miles of roadside twice a year.
