Jennifer was a Peer Reviewer for v1.0 of the WELL Standard, and continues to contribute to the development of WELL, its new versions, and Pilots. Jennifer is featured on the IWBI website, and in their global education and marketing footage. Jennifer has had the unique experience of being a Consultant to both Delos and IWBI; as well as working with WELL in various phases on over 100 projects around the country and world. Jennifer works with Global companies as they explore WELL for their projects and portfolios.

Jennifer is currently overseeing the certifications for many firsts in WELL, LEED, and Net Zero Energy. Many of these projects will be seeking Living Building Challenge Petal recognition through the International Living Future Institute.

In her previous role as Owner’s Representative at Shangri-La Industries and Director of Sustainability at Shangri-La Construction, Jennifer was instrumental in securing the world’s first LEED Platinum certification for New Construction for an aviation facility through her work on Hangar 25 in Burbank, CA. Jennifer also successfully facilitated the LEED certification of 302 E Carson located in Las Vegas, NV. This LEED Gold Core & Shell project was Nevada’s first LEED Gold office retrofit, marking an important milestone for the City and State. Jennifer also orchestrated the LEED Platinum certification of Citadel Environmental Services, Inc.’s Corporate Headquarters under LEED for Commercial Interiors. This was the first LEED Platinum Commercial Interior office space in the Tri-City (Glendale/Pasadena/Burbank) area.

Jennifer consulted on what has been considered one of the most innovative and “ahead of its time projects” for sustainability and wellness, Step Up On Vine. This LEED for Homes Platinum certified permanent supportive housing project for chronically homeless and mentally ill individuals in Hollywood, CA took into account the occupants’ health and well-being. SUOV addressed many of the features now found in the WELL Building Standard. Jennifer is also currently working on one of Burbank’s largest projects, a LEED for Homes Multi-family project that will include housing for 250+ families in Burbank, CA.

Jennifer has been an active member of the USGBC Green Schools Movement to get all children in a healthy and green school within this generation because where we learn matters. Her dedication to the USGBC’s Center for Green Schools’ annual Apple Green Day of Service started when Jennifer’s eldest son was in “KinderGarden”. Jennifer initiated what started as 6 raised garden beds, and over the course of 3 Apple Green Days of Service; blossomed into 17 raised garden beds on drip irrigation that teachers use to teach all grades, daily. The garden grew to 4 chickens, a garden library, and so much more.

Jennifer is a much sought after public speaker; teaching about LEED and the WELL Building Standard, as well as providing tours of her innovative LEED and WELL projects to groups from around the world. Jennifer has volunteered and presented at countless green building and wellness conferences, events and meetings around the country for various organizations, clients and companies over the past decade. Jennifer has cleaned up the LA River, played Ping Pong for Green Schools, and been a community organizer and advocate for the environment and human health & well-being.

Jennifer is a leader within the USGBC-Los Angeles Chapter, the USGBC National Movement, the WELL Movement, and in the fields of green building and wellness in general. Jennifer is on the Board of the USGBC-LA Chapter and was the Secretary and Vice Chair from 2012 to 2015. She was also the Chair, Vice-Chair & Founding Member of the San Fernando Valley Branch of the USGBC-LA Chapter. Previously, she served as the Chair of the San Fernando Valley Green Building Task Force and a Board Member of the San Fernando Valley Green Team. Jennifer also joined the Los Angeles Urban Land Institute’s “Building Healthy Places” Steering Committee in 2015.
